The combat sports world was set alight after UFC legend Conor McGregor shockingly appeared at rival promotion Bare Knuckle Fight Championships (BKFC).
BKFC held their 41st event over the weekend with the main event pitting two former UFC favourites Mike Perry and Luke Rockhold against each other.
Perry forced the former UFC champion to quit in the second round in a shocking end to the bout to continue Perry’s impressive run of fights.

However, the shocks didn’t end there as perhaps the biggest name in combat sports decided to step into the ring following the fight.
Perry called out Conor McGregor for a staredown, and the Notorious one obliged - entering the ring with a BKFC championship over his shoulder.
The two stared each other down as the former UFC double-champ congratulated his adversary on his efforts in the sport.

It was a shocking turn of events with the MMA star turning up and being a showpiece part of a rival promotion’s show.
While McGregor hasn’t competed in the UFC since 2021, he is a coach on the upcoming season of The Ultimate Fighter and is expected to face Michael Chandler sometime this year.
However, he seemed extremely impressed by the BKFC and even indicated that he would be interested in stepping into the ring.
UFC fans were quick to make their assumptions about the appearance and seemed to believe that the UFC president wouldn’t be too happy with the Irishman.

One wrote: “Conor McGregor is a maniac. He shows up to #BKFC, gets called out by Mike Perry in a promotion he doesn’t fight in, says ‘f**k it’ and steps into the ring for a faceoff. BKFC couldn’t have had a bigger rub than that.
“Dana White ain’t happy.”
Another said: “Dana is not gonna be a fan of McGregor on BKFC.”
A third wrote: “Haha, what the hell? McGregor poses with BKFC belt at their event, praising BKFC? Dana has to be delighted.”

A fourth commented: "Dana White sick to his stomach right now."
Mike Perry proceeded to call out McGregor for a fight after their staredown, however, revealed after the fight that he is currently a free agent.

He’s 3-0 in the promotion so certainly has some leverage for his next payday.
