DP World Tour golfer breaks the world record for the longest putt in history that might never be beaten

The golfer hit one of the most impressive shots ever seen.

A golfer playing on the DP World Tour has broken a World Record with an incredible shot that nobody will be able to replicate.

On Saturday, a clip of David Micheluzzi attempting to break the World Record for the longest ever putt emerged online.

The Australian golfer is currently fifth in the DP World Tour rankings and made the World Record during the Tour's Hero Challenge in Abu Dhabi.

Over 65 players, including Tommy Fleetwood, Min Woo Lee, Justin Rose, and Robert MacIntyre, all attempted the putt, but couldn't break the record.

The challenge, which took place in early November, involved the player making a putt from an incredible 139 yards out, smashing the previous record of just under 134 yards away from the hole.

It was staged on the 7th hole of Yas Links in Abu Dhabi and every player in the field was tasked with the seemingly impossible task of holing a putt from a the fairway.

But despite the failure of his peers, Micheluzzi was not deterred and was victorious in making the putt on his second attempt.

The 28-year-old is absolutely ecstatic after watching the golf ball slowly make it's way into the hole, throwing his club into the air in celebration.

Reacting to the clip on X, one fan wrote: "Not going to happen again for a long time, if ever."

While one asked: "Hit and hope, surely?! How the hell do you read a 139 yard run to the cup!!?! Staggering!"

And another admitted: "Not a golf fan but this is insane!"

Micheluzzi joins several other DP World Tour players who hold World Records, such as Thomas Detry who holds the record for ‘Fastest hole of golf by an individual’, after finishing Par 5 hole at Spain's Real Club de Golf Guadalmina in just one minute 29.62 seconds.

The newly-crowned record holder is currently competing in the Australian Open, where he is tied 33rd after Day 3 with a score of five under par.

He is nine strokes behind the leaders, Ryggs Johnston and Lucas Herbert, who share a joint two-stroke lead at the Australian Open.
