The Masters climaxes this evening and a record purse will be shared among the players who made the cut for the prestigious golf tournament.
The 2025 instalment at the Augusta National Golf Club in Georgia - the 89th edition of the tournament - is likely to be won by either Northern Ireland’s Rory McIlroy or America’s Bryson DeChambeau.
McIlroy is currently in the lead heading into the final day of action with a score of 12-under-par, while DeChambeau is only two shots behind him at 10-under-par.

McIlroy is seeking his first major title since 2014 and his fifth golf majors title having won the US Open, The Open and two US PGA Championships - and win the Masters for the first time.
Should DeChambeau triumph, he would win his third majors title following victories at the US Open in 2020 and 2024.
If McIlroy wins the Masters, he will follow in the same footsteps as Jack Nicklaus, Tiger Woods, Gene Sarazen, Ben Hogan and Gary Player to join an elite club as only the sixth man in history to have completed a career grand slam.

Last year’s tournament saw a prize pot of $20m for the first time ever, which in turn meant the victor took home the largest amount ever.
Scottie Scheffler took home a cool $3.6m on that occasion, as well as the prestigious green jacket.
How much will Rory McIlroy get if he wins the Masters?
And the 2025 prize purse has been announced now, with the record broken once again in terms of the money players will share and what the winner will claim.
Advert
It has been announced that the prize fund for this year will be $21m, with a record $4.2m - or £3.2m - taken home by the winner, likely to be McIlroy or DeChambeau, an increase of $600,000 compared to what Scheffler won in 2024.

At least $1m will be taken home by the top four finishers, while the top 12 are guaranteed to be invited to next year’s Masters.
But a player also finishing in this position will still net $500,000, which is not bad going for four days of work.

The top 50 will net at least $52,920, and those outside will receive cash amounts from $51,660 and below, descending the further down the order a player finishes.
