Wrexham manager Phil Parkinson has admitted that he has failed ‘to make the cut’ for the Red Dragons’ promotion celebrations in Las Vegas and will stay at home.
The north Wales club, owned by Hollywood duo Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney, will play in the Football League next season for the first time in 15 years after Parkinson’s side won the National League title to secure promotion to League Two.
This comes after the club fell just short last season in the owners’ first full campaign in charge, losing in the play-offs to the eventually-promoted Grimsby Town.

Reynolds and McElhenney’s purchase of Wrexham has seen the club become subject to interest from around the globe and they are already looking to be one of the favourites for automatic promotion to League One next season.
However, before a ball is kicked, the club’s players will celebrate with an all-expenses paid trip to Las Vegas, gifted by the owners. Although manager Parkinson won’t be attending.
“I didn’t make the cut for the Vegas trip, unfortunately,” the Englishman told Sky Sports. “We’ll leave that one to the lads and hopefully they will come back in one piece. I’m sure they will.”

This week saw both Wrexham’s men’s and women’s teams celebrated with an open-top bus tour after their respective title wins with the latter being promoted to the highest level of women’s football in Wales, the Adran Premier.
Parkinson hailed the celebrations, adding: “This is what it's all about. You kind of dream of the open-top bus celebrations when you've got promotion, you dream of lifting trophies. There's so much work that goes in, throughout the whole football club to bring success.
“This has been a real team effort. Not just the team on the pitch, but all the support staff, and everybody has played the part. Tonight is a celebration and we're going to savour every minute of it.

“The uplift in the area has been incredible and I think the people of Wrexham deserved someone to take over the club. "They probably couldn't imagine in the world of streams, it'd be Rob and Ryan but not only that, how well they've done and the plans going forward for the club as well.”
Parkinson will have the opportunity to go Stateside with his players in July though with the Welsh club so far announcing friendlies against Manchester United, Chelsea and LA Galaxy II as part of the pre-season tour in the United States.
