With the new football season kicking off this month, you might have been wondering if there was a way to watch the Champions League for free. Given that subscriptions to the likes of Sky Sports and TNT Sports can quickly add up, especially if you're also signed up for Netflix, Prime Video or Disney+, you’ll be happy to know that there is still a way to watch one match a week completely for free.
So, here’s everything you need to know…
How to watch Champions League matches for free

If you already have Prime Video, you are in luck, as it won’t cost you a penny extra to tune into some Champions League matches this season.
The streaming platform will exclusively broadcast 17 top-pick matches every Tuesday night, right up to and including the Semi-Final stage. And this includes the upcoming play-offs match between Galatasaray and Young Boys on Tuesday August 27.
The first official league phase match will begin on Tuesday September 17.
For those who aren’t Prime Video members already, you can sign up for a free 30 day trial, which will also give you free one-day delivery on millions of items.

But if you’ve already had a free trial in the past or are looking to sign up to guarantee that you don’t miss a minute of the action on Tuesday nights, you can sign-up for Prime Video on its own for £5.99 per month.
This will give you access to thousands of movies and TV shows, in addition to the footie. Or for just £3 more a month/£95 annually, you can get Prime Video as part of Amazon’s Prime membership. This means that as well as having access to Prime Video, you can also get same day and grocery deliveries for only a few pounds extra each month.
Whichever option you choose, both allow you to watch on devices such as laptops and phones, tablets, smart TVs, streaming sticks and games consoles.
What else does it include?
And it's not just the Tuesday night matches that you get access to with Prime Video, there are a number of other worthwhile features that viewers will be able to take advantage of while watching.

It’s actually the very first time in the UK that Champions League viewers will be able to access Rapid Recap – also known as their catch up highlight reel – across all devices, with Key Moments – their way of letting you review any key incident whenever you want during the broadcast – also available on TV devices.
You’ll even be able to see what they call X-Ray – a variety of stats including the scoreboard, possession, shots and shots on target per team, the line-ups and many more – at the touch of a button.
In addition to this, the usual live commentary for every top Tuesday match will be provided by Jon Champion and Alan Shearer, with Gabriel Clarke and Alex Aljoe reporting from inside the stadium each week.
How to watch the rest of the matches
Sadly, you will need to sign up for an additional subscription to watch the rest of the Champions League matches. This can be done via TNT Sports, which is included in the premium tier of the Discovery+ subscription service for an additional monthly fee of £30.99 per month.

But if you're not too fussed about catching every game, you can definitely get your money's worth by watching via Amazon's free trial or as part of their £5.99 a month subscription fee.
