Burnley manager Vincent Kompany has been strongly linked with the vacant Tottenham job after leading the Clarets back to the Premier League at the first time of asking in his first season at Turf Moor.
The former Manchester City defender was appointed as Burnley boss last summer, having spent two seasons as Anderlecht manager in the 37-year-old's native Belgium, with the Clarets facing their first season outside of the Premier League in six years.
However, upon his return to England, Kompany has led the Lancashire outfit to the Championship title at the first time of asking and looks set to be a Premier League manager next season. However, there are still doubts that that will come with Burnley.

According to Belgian football journalist Sacha Tavolieri, the 37-year-old has got admirers at Spurs who are looking to appoint a full-time replacement for Antonio Conte who departed the club in March.
Additionally, this week saw Conte's interim replacement Cristian Stellini sacked following a humiliating 6-1 defeat at Newcastle United last Sunday. Former player Ryan Mason is set to take charge for the rest of the season.
Tavolieri took to Twitter to report Tottenham's interest whilst also saying that the Belgian was Chelsea's 'plan B if not [Mauricio] Pochettino.'

"The connection between Vincent Kompany and Tottenham is founded and was undertaken by the Wasserman agency in contact with Daniel Levy who likes his unifying profile and his brand image in England with a style of play that would suit Tottenham's identity," the journalist tweeted on Friday evening.
"In case of arrival at Spurs, Vincent Kompany would arrive with his staff of 7 people and a hand on the transfer window.
For the moment, Kompany is focusing on getting more than 100 points in the Championship with Burnley. VK was Chelsea’s plan B if not Pochettino."

Burnley have already secured the Championship title with Sheffield United securing the second automatic promotion place and will need to beat Bristol City and Cardiff City in their remaining two matches in order to surpass the 100 points tally.
