Chelsea have reportedly accepted a loan offer from Italian Serie A side Roma for striker Romelu Lukau.
After a below-par loan spell with Inter Milan last season, Lukaku was reportedly told that he is no longer part of Chelsea’s plan and that the best solution for his career would be to find a new club.
Despite having a proven goal-scoring record, Lukaku has found it tough to find a club after being linked with the likes of Juventus, Inter Milan and also clubs from the Saudi Professional League.
However, it seems that the Belgian striker’s search for his new club is about to end.

According to talkSPORT, Jose Mourinho’s Roma have agreed to pay £5 million in loan fees and Lukaku will take a pay cut of more than £10 million a year.
It has been claimed that Lukaku is on £325,000 a week but is prepared to sign for Roma for £7 million a year, much less than his reported £17 million salary.
Lukaku is now set for a reunion with Mourinho after the pair spent time together whilst at Manchester United and Chelsea.
Before Roma came calling, it was believed that Juventus were ready to offer the striker £12 million per year but talks eventually broke down.

The report from talkSPORT stated that Mourinho spoke to Lukaku directly outlining how he wants to bring the best out of him, this proved to be a deciding factor in making Lukaku’s mind up.
Back in 2021, Chelsea spent £97 million to bring Lukaku back to Stamford Bridge after he impressed with Inter.
However, his second stint with the Blues ended bitterly.
Despite enjoying a decent start, things soon unravelled quickly before an explosive interview mid-way through the season practically ended his career with Chelsea.
