Real Madrid told 'it's only a matter of time' before shock blockbuster transfer happens as contact made

The transfer could change Real Madrid's future.

Spanish La Liga giants Real Madrid have been told that a shock blockbuster transfer is a matter of when and not if, with contact reportedly being made already.

Over the years, Madrid have dominated both Spanish and European football have won multiple La Liga titles and Champions Leagues.

As one of the biggest clubs in the world, Los Blancos often attract some of the world's best players.

In the last few years, the likes of Jude Bellingham, Kylian Mbappe and Endrick were high-profile additions to Madrid's already world-class squad.

However, it has now been claimed that one of their own could be lured away from the Bernabeu.

As reported by ESPN, clubs in the Saudi Pro League are keeping a close eye on Madrid superstar Vinicius Junior.

It has been suggested that Saudi Arabia's Public Investment Fund (PIF) contacted the Brazilian's representatives last month over a potential transfer that would rock the football world.

Currently, the Saudi PIF controls clubs such as Al Ittihad, Al Ahli, Al Nassr, and Al Hilal.

The report also stated that any potential transfers would take a massive bid, Vinicius reportedly has a release clause of €1 billion (£844mllion) in his current Madrid contract, which is set to expire in 2027.

As reported by Marca, Saudi Pro League CEO Omar Mugharbel has hinted that it's a matter of when, not if, Vinicius makes a move to the Middle East.

He said: "We don't have dreams, it's a matter of time and negotiation. Foreign players have always been part of Saudi teams.

"In recent years, the number of possible foreign players in teams has changed. This season we have increased the number to eight, plus two other players who are under 21. It has always been in the DNA of this league to bring in players from outside to make it more attractive."

Mugharbel continued: "What has changed massively, especially in the last two years, has been the quality of the players who come. Benzema, among others, create a bigger impact, both nationally and internationally.

"What has also changed is the global interest in our league. It is broadcast in 160 countries, and you can watch a match from almost every part of the world. Our social media channels show content in different languages such as English, Portuguese, Mandarin... we are going to do it in more languages because there is a global interest. We want to offer our content to a global audience."
