The path may be clear for Manchester United to sign Rasmus Hojlund after a transfer development at Atalanta.
United and Paris Saint-Germain are battling to sign the highly-rated 20-year-old, who scored nine goals in 32 Serie A games last season.
United submitted an opening bid for Hojlund on Wednesday, with the Premier League club offering a total package worth €60m (£51m) - with €10m (£8.5m) to be paid in add-ons.

On Thursday, PSG also made an opening bid for the striker worth €50m (£43m).
Both offers are unlikely to be accepted, with the Daily Mail reporting that Atalanta value Hojlund at €100m (£86m).
Fabrizio Romano claims United have scheduled talks with Atalanta on Friday as they look to reach an agreement with the Italian club.
And a potential deal could be horizon, with the Italian club making progress in signing a replacement for Hojlund.
Football Italia report that Almeria striker El Bilal Toure landed in Italy on Friday to undergo a medical with Atalanta.

Toure arrived at Linate Airport in Milan and is set to join Atalanta for a club-record €30m (£25.6m) fee, should he pass his medical and agree personal terms.
It is believed that the 21-year-old, who scored seven goals in La Liga last season, has rejected an approach from Everton to move to Italy.
Should Toure complete his move as expected, it would clear the path for Hojlund to move to either United or PSG.
The striker's reported preference is to join Erik ten Hag at Old Trafford, with the player already agreeing personal terms with both United and PSG.
Atalanta manager Gian Piero Gasperini recently admitted he is unsure if Hojlund will still be at the club for the start of the new Serie A season.

"I don't know whether he'll stay or leave, but I hope the club will value Hojlund around €80, 90 or 100 million fee," said Gasperini.
"Rasmus is one of the best – if not the best – emerging talents in Europe as a striker."
