Liverpool are reportedly looking to close out a transfer in the coming days after missing out on Martin Zubimendi.
With the summer transfer window edging closer to an end, Liverpool remain the only Premier League side yet to bring in new faces ahead of the new season.
Last week, it was reported that Liverpool were actively looking to strengthen in midfield and had identified Real Sociedad star Zubimendi as their primary target.
However, it was then revealed on Monday night that the 25-year-old had rejected a move to Anfield.

Despite the setback, it has been claimed that Liverpool would like to close the signing of Georgian goalkeeper Giorgi Mamardashvili in the coming days.
As reported by Relevo, Liverpool have launched an attack on Mamardashvili and his current club, Valencia, would like a transfer fee of more than €30 million.
Transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano wrote: “Liverpool are seriously considering opportunity to sign Giorgi Mamardashvili for fee in excess of €30m for Valencia and then loan him out.
“No final decision yet but talks continue, it’s up to Liverpool. Georgian GK keen on move to #LFC with loan next, as @relevo reported.”

He added: "One more meeting has already been scheduled for Liverpool to discuss Giorgi Mamardashvili deal with Valencia.
"Up to the Reds as he’d be loaned out and Georgian GK is keen on this solution."
After missing out on Zubimendi, it has been suggested that Liverpool are currently unlikely to add a midfielder to their ranks before the end of the transfer window.

During the club’s pre-season tour, Liverpool boss Arne Slot spoke about potential transfers, he said: “I notice that you are focused a lot on new signings! I am focused on the tour, how we played, what we need to improve and what we did well.
“Like I said, the bar is really high for new signings because we have so many good players. It is not so easy to first find a player to meet those standards and then ask, ‘is he available?’.”
The Dutchman added: “Then we have to find an agreement with them, so it is not always easy to find a player who can help us but Richard is working hard on it and let’s see what comes from this.”
