Liverpool have reportedly offered Barcelona the chance to sign midfielder Thiago Alcantara.
The 32-year-old made 68 appearances for the Catalan club prior to his seven year stint in Bayern Munich from 2013 to 2020, which saw him secure seven Bundesliga titles and one Champions League.
A move to Liverpool would then follow in 2020, although the Thiago has struggled to nail a regular spot in the starting line-up, with injuries plaguing his time on Merseyside.
He is yet to make an appearance for the club this season due to a recurring hip issue, but is now nearing a return from the setback as his boss Jürgen Klopp looks to integrate him back into first team training in the coming weeks.

Speaking in his press conference ahead of the Reds' upcoming clash against Newcastle United on New Years Day, Klopp offered an update on the fitness of Thiago and whether he could return in January. “I am actually not 100 per cent sure," he said. “I think Thiago will be at one point in team training.
"Thiago is in a very good moment as well but we just have to make sure we don’t use him then too early. The hip thing in and around that area is just a long-term thing as well.
“There were for sure days where he could have easily trained but it’s all about how can he be back then in the long term, and that’s what we are working on.”

Despite the player nearing a return to Liverpool training, a transfer exit to re-join his former club Barcelona could now be on the cards, as they look to fill the void the injured Gavi has left in Xavi's midfield.
According Más Que Pelotas, Thiago has been 'offered' to Barcelona in the January transfer window, but it is currently unclear whether this was done by the club themselves or the players representatives.
