Liverpool and Manchester United reportedly sent scouts to watch a player that could be the next Luis Diaz.
Back in January 2022, Diaz left Portuguese side Porto for Liverpool for a reported fee of £37 million.
Since then, the Colombian has scored 21 goals in 83 appearances across all competitions for the Reds.

However, Diaz’s form dropped last season due to a knee injury. At the start of the current campaign, the forward had to endure a major off-field issue after his parents were kidnapped in Colombia.
Now, it has been reported that both Liverpool and United’s scouts were in attendance for Porto’s 5-0 win over Benfica over the weekend.
One of the players they will be keeping an eye on would have been Wenderson Galeno, who has been impressing many this season and scored twice against Benfica.

Galeno could be the next Diaz as he was originally signed to replace the Colombian when he moved to Liverpool in January 2022.
Aside from Liverpool and United, it is believed that scouts from Arsenal, Newcastle United and Aston Villa were also at the match.
It has recently been claimed that Liverpool could sell Diaz in the summer transfer window.

However, that decision will be dependent on whether Mohamed Salah decides to extend his stay at Anfield.
Salah has often been linked with a move to the Saudi Professional League, Al Ittihad showed interest last summer but ultimately failed to lure the Egyptian away.
Al Ittihad reportedly made a bid worth more than £200 million but it was quickly rebuffed by the Anfield club.
Liverpool’s decision to keep the 31-year-old has proved to be correct as he has played a huge role in their season so far.

To date, Salah has made 28 appearances across all competitions for the Reds, scoring 19 and assisting 10.
However, the forward has missed Liverpool’s last few matches due to a reoccurrence of the hamstring he suffered during the African Cup of Nations in January.
Speaking ahead of Liverpool’s victory against Nottingham Forest, Jurgen Klopp gave a brief update on Salah’s progress.
He said: “I don't think Mo is too far off but he will not be on the pitch tomorrow and from there we have to go.

“Touch and go, Mo is a bit longer, maybe next week is possible, he is on the way back, definitely. Not for tomorrow.”
