With the January transfer window coming towards a close, it has been reported that Liverpool could make a late move to bring in a new player.
According to Argentine news outlet El Crack Deportivo, Liverpool have contacted Boca Juniors regarding midfielder Ezequiel Fernandez.
Liverpool are reportedly targeting a move for a midfielder as Thiago Alcantara and Stefan Bajcetic continue to recover from injury. In addition, the Reds are currently without Wataru Endo, who is on international duty with Japan at the Asian Cup.

It has been claimed that Mac Allister spoke to Klopp about the 22-year-old and gave him his recommendation.
Mac Allister spoke about Fernandez last year, he said to TyC Sports: “If you ask me a little more about my style, there is a player that I really like and that is Equi Fernandez.
“He is a player who has all the conditions to reach Europe one day and I hope that can happen to him.”

Mac Allister continued: “He is a player that I like a lot, he understands the game a lot. He is always prepared to receive the ball, he plays with both legs, he can play as a five, as an inside player… he is a player who has certain very good conditions and, if Brighton asked me, I would say his name.”
Aside from Liverpool, Fernandez has also been linked with fellow Premier League side Arsenal.
According to El Crack Deportivo, Fernandez could be the latest talent who may make a move to Arsenal.
