Kieran Trippier is poised to seal move away from Newcastle United in January and has even cut his holiday short to head to a European giant and reunite with a couple of former team-mates.
The 33-year-old right-back has been with the Magpies since January 2022, returning to the Premier League after three years in Spain with Atletico Madrid.
He had previously been with Tottenham Hotspur for four years, moving to the North London club after becoming a first-team regular under Sean Dyche at Burnley, having cemented his place at Turf Moor after coming through the youth team ranks at Manchester City.
Trippier has played 81 games in two seasons at St James' Park and been a regular selection under Eddie Howe in that time, being part of a team which returned Newcastle to the Champions League.

However, despite being a near constant for Newcastle, speculation surrounds Trippier's future on Tyneside, with his deal at the club set to run out as things stand in the summer of 2025.
With 18 months still to go on his contract in the North East, Newcastle can command a fee for Trippier's services, who has been a key attacking threat down the right for Howe's side with his dangerous crosses.
But according to the Daily Mail, Trippier has flown home from a mid-season holiday in New York in bid to seal a move to German giants Bayern Munich.

The publication reports Newcastle have rejected Bayern's initial approaches for Trippier's services, with the Premier League club insisting the defender is not for sale unless any money offered is simply too good to turn down.
The player is said to be open to the move, but is also happy at Newcastle and playing under Howe.
If Trippier does move on, it will be the second time he will have moved abroad in his career - and he would link up with a couple of former Spurs team-mates in the process.

Harry Kane moved to Bayern over the summer for an initial €100m fee after the England captain's deal in North London was poised to expire this summer.
The 30-year-old has scored 26 goals in 23 games for the club, and Kane has recently been joined in Bavaria by Eric Dier, who moved from Spurs to Bayern in January.
Newcastle have been on a mid-season break and are next in action on Saturday in the FA Cup fourth round against Fulham.
At least if Trippier moves to Bavaria, there will be a couple of familiar faces in the Bayern dressing room to help him settle in.
