Karim Benzema makes Saudi Pro League transfer decision amid Man Utd, Chelsea and Arsenal links

Karim Benzema has been linked with a move away from Saudi Arabia

Karim Benzema has reportedly made a decision on his future amid rumours linking him with a move away from Saudi Arabia.

Back in the summer transfer window, Benzema made the decision to leave Spanish La Liga giants Real Madrid for Saudi Arabian side Al Ittihad.

The Frenchman was one of many big-name players to ditch Europe for the Middle East.

Players joining Benzema in the Saudi Professional League include Roberto Firmino, N’Golo Kante, Riyad Mahrez, Aymeric Laporte and Marcelo Brozovic.

Last week, it was reported that Premier League side Manchester United are exploring a deal to sign Benzema on loan.

Aside from United, London clubs Chelsea and Arsenal have also been linked with a move for the 2022 Ballon d’Or winner.

Now, it has been reported that Benzema has made a decision on his future.

According to French news outlet L’Equipe, Benzema is expected to stay in Saudi Arabia despite the recent rumours.

It has been claimed that those around the 36-year-old say he feels good and will remain with Al Ittihad.

On rumours linking Chelsea with Benzema, former Blues player Pat Nevin told OCB Scores: “How many times have Chelsea gone down that route of signing an experienced striker?

“You think of the certain strikers that Chelsea have signed in the latter stages of their career, the likes of Shevchenko, I could go through a number of them.”

He added: “They are all brilliant but very few of them scored a lot of goals for the club. On the other hand, if you are creating a number of chances which Chelsea are, maybe you just need someone who can put the ball in the net.

“It’s such a short-termist thing and it’s so against what the ethos has been from the club. It would be surprising but does it mean it won’t happen? Absolutely not. It would be interesting but Evan Ferguson would be the more obvious one to go for.”
