Eric Dier has reportedly completed a transfer to a shock club ahead of this summer’s window.
Dier, 31, has been playing for Vincent Kompany’s Bayern Munich since he left Tottenham Hotspur at the end of the 2023/24 campaign after being loaned to the Bavarians for the second half of last season.
The former England international has featured 25 times for the Bundesliga giants this term but is seemingly on the move once again.
On Tuesday evening (April 29), reports from French outlet L’Equipe claimed Ligue 1 side Monaco are keen to add experience to their ranks by signing Dier.

The defender’s Bayern contract is set to expire at the end of the current season and he will reportedly join Monaco on a free transfer.
Fabrizio Romano issued an update on X, he wrote: “Eric Dier to AS Monaco, here we go! Deal done for English centre back to leave Bayern and join Monaco.
“Deal in place… agreement already done and sealed.

“Understand the contract will be valid until June 2027 + option to extend.”
This comes after Dier was praised by Bayern's director of sport, Max Eberl, after he impressed during the side's 3-0 win over Mainz on Saturday.
"Since Dayot Upamecano’s injury, Eric has proven his importance and shown how solid he is," said Eberl.
"He’s been there and knows what he can do.

"He’s a very, very important player for us at this stage. We’ll see on August 1st who will be in the squad for the next season."
Dier was raised in Portugal and even came through the ranks at Sporting CP before a loan spell at Everton which led to him joining Spurs in 2014. So he is no stranger to playing outside of England, which he is set to do once again next season.
Speaking to The Times in 2024, the defender explained how he feels more appreciated on the continent compared to England.

"I’ve always felt I’m perhaps more appreciated in Portugal than in England,” Dier said.
“I’m perhaps not spoken about with the respect I should be with regards to what I’ve done in my career.
“I wouldn’t say the perception of me is positive [in England]. But I don’t feel sorry for myself in the slightest. I know what I’ve done. I know what I haven’t done. No one’s more critical of me than myself.
“It is funny how, abroad, I do tend to receive that appreciation more than at home. I really feel, here in Germany, the club’s appreciation for me."
