Chelsea legend Joe Cole has told his former club to secure the signings of Real Madrid duo Luka Modric and Toni Kroos this summer.
Mauricio Pochettino's side have been one of the more - if not the most - active teams in the transfer window across recent seasons, with over £1billion spent on bringing players such as Cole Palmer, Raheem Sterling and Enzo Fernandez to the club.
Despite the mass investment, the Blues are currently struggling to find a cohesive unit on the pitch that can deliver further success to the two-times Champions League winners.

Chelsea currently sit in 11th place within the Premier League table and also suffered defeat to Liverpool in the Carabao Cup final last month.
While the clash is currently pencilled in for April 20, former Chelsea man Cole is already looking ahead to the summer transfer window - where he has tipped the club to secure two major transfers to ensure they are more successful in 2024/25.
Speaking on possible additions Chelsea could make in pre-season via GOAL, Cole highlighted both Modric and Kroos and the impact they would have. "I'd be looking to bring in some experienced players who set the tone," he said.

"I'm thinking is Luka Modric out of [contract]? Does he want to come and play in the Premier League for one more year?
"He's still doing bits at Real Madrid. And how much has he helped [Eduardo] Camavinga, [Aurelien] Tchouameni, [Federico] Valverde? He would've had such an influence on them as players.
"Toni Kroos is 34. Does he want to test himself at his age? Coming over here and helping out this young [Chelsea] squad. They're just names I've thrown off the top of my head, I don't know their situation."

Both contracts for the Madrid midfield duo are set to expire this summer, with the possibility of retirement after EURO 2024 in Germany a strong possibility for Kroos. Meanwhile, Modric has reportedly rejected the opportunity to extend his 12-year stay at the Bernabeu Stadium - with his next move unclear.
