Chelsea are reportedly open to offers for six of their first-team stars as they bid to raise funds to buy a centre-back with Marc Guehi linked.

It has been a decent start for Chelsea under new boss Enzo Maresca as they currently sit fourth in the Premier League table.

The Blues are four points behind Nottingham Forest and Arsenal and are 10 adrift of leaders Liverpool.

In recent weeks, Chelsea have slipped up against the likes of Crystal Palace, Ipswich Town, Fulham and Everton as their hopes of winning the Premier League title are beginning to fade away.

To make matters worse, they are currently a little short at the back with Benoit Badiashile and Wesley Fofana ruled out due to injury.

Chelsea open to offers for six first-team players in bid to raise funds for Marc Guehi.

With the January transfer window now open, it has been claimed that Chelsea could be open to selling as many as six first-team members in order to raise funds for a new centre-back.

As reported by The Telegraph, the likes of Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, Carney Chukwuemeka, Axel Disasi, Cesare Casadei, Ben Chilwell and Christopher Nkunku are all surplus to requirements and Chelsea would be open to offers for them.

It has been suggested that the Blues hold an interest in Crystal Palace captain Guehi, as well as other centre-back options.

The report stated: "Guehi is one of a number of defenders Chelsea are considering and it is believed the club have made checks on Crystal Palace’s valuation of the player."

However, it has to be said that signing their former player, who was at the club from 2007-2021, could be difficult and expensive but it has 'not yet been discounted'.

Speaking about Fofana last week, Blues boss Maresca stated that the Frenchman could be out for the remainder of the campaign.

He said: "Unfortunately he could be out for the season. We don't know exactly but he could be out for part of the season. Every time you ask me about Wes, I said many times I am in love with Wes.

"It was the first update and the first information we had but having a test, we realised it was worst than what we thought at the beginning. It is hamstring and unfortunately, we are going to lose him for a while."

Chelsea return to action this weekend when they take on Morecambe in the FA Cup.
