Manchester United have found a transfer alternative to Bayern Munich defender Benjamin Pavard, according to a new report.
United submitted an opening bid to sign the France defender on Saturday, according to Fabrizio Romano, but it was turned down by Bayern.
German outlet Bild report that the Bundesliga champions had asked for €45 million to sell Pavard, but are now more reluctant to sell after being unable to sign Kyle Walker from Manchester City as a replacement.

Unired, meanwhile, are searching for a replacement for Harry Maguire, despite the centre-back seeing a move to West Ham fall through.
A versatile defender, Pavard would fit the bill, especially as he is entering the final 12 months of his Bayern contract with no indication that he will extend.
But should United not be able to bring the 27-year-old in, they have reportedly found a viable alternative.

Man Utd find Benjamin Pavard transfer alternative
Writing in his column for CaughtOffside, Fabrizio Romano revealed that United are interested in Crystal Palace defender Marc Guehi.
A left-footed centre-back who is now a regular in England squads, the Chelsea academy graduate has gone from strength to strength since departing Stamford Bridge and has caught the eye of some of Europe's biggest clubs.
Guehi is also represented by Unique Sports Group, the same agency that represent United full-back Aaron Wan-Bissaka.

Speaking in May, Palace boss Roy Hodgson claimed Guehi and team-mate Joachim Andersen could play for any club (quotes via The Independent): "Guehi and Andersen are very good players.
"They're good defenders and good on the ball, which is very useful because it helps you start attacks, switch play and develop the composure you need to build attacks up.
"They're both very useful to the club and would be to any club because they're good players."
Guehi has also received interest from Arsenal and Chelsea, with the Daily Mirror claiming that the Gunners have identified the Palace star as a potential replacement for Gabriel Magalhaes amid reports linking him with a move to Saudi Arabia.
