Barcelona 'ready to include €30m forward in stunning swap deal' to beat Liverpool to player

Barcelona 'ready to include €30m forward in stunning swap deal' to beat Liverpool to player

Barcelona and Liverpool could be going head-to-head in the transfer window.

Barcelona are reportedly ready to use one of their players as a makeweight in order to beat Liverpool to a transfer target.

Barcelona have made a promising start to the 24/25 season under new boss Hansi Flick as they currently sit top of the La Liga table, nine points ahead of fierce rivals Real Madrid.

In Europe, Flick's men are currently in sixth place in the Champions League table, three points behind leaders Liverpool.

Looking ahead to the transfer window, it has been claimed that Barcelona are ready to fight Liverpool to add to their squad.

As reported by Fichajes, the Catalans are ready to use Ferran Torres in a swap deal for Borussia Dortmund star Karim Adeyemi.

It has been suggested that Dortmund value Adeyemi at around €50 million and Barcelona are hoping that including Torres could lead to a more manageable price for the German.

However, Barcelona are set to face competition from a host of different clubs around the continent, including Premier League leaders Liverpool, who have reportedly included Adeyemi as a possible long-term replacement for Mohamed Salah.

Who is Karim Adeyemi?

Born in Munich, Germany, 22-year-old Adeyemi played for the likes of TSV Forstenried, Bayern Munich and SpVgg Ubnterhaching in his youth career before making a move to Austrian side Red Bull Salzburg.

Adeyemi made his senior debut for Salzburg in 2018 before a string of impressive appearances earned him a move to Dortmund in 2022.

Since joining the Bundesliga side, the forward has scored 19 goals in 74 appearances across all competitions.

So far in the 24/25 season, Adeyemi has five goals and five assists in eight matches for Dortmund.

What has been said about Karim Adeyemi?

After scoring a hat-trick against Celtic in the Champions League last month, Dortmund boss Nuri Sahin asked for more.

He said: "What Karim has, the whole package, is so good, but together we have to see that we get that on the field every three days, in every training session.

"Wingers and attacking players are going to score goals and that’s how they’re measured. But what impressed me today was the work against the ball, that’s the benchmark for Karim, how I measure him."
