A fresh transfer target for Arsenal has emerged as Mikel Arteta is pushing the Gunners to make a big offer to bring an AC Milan midfielder to North London.
The Gunners made several signings over the summer as the club seeks to win its first Premier League title since 2004.
David Raya's loan move from Brentford was turned into a permanent deal, while defender Ricciardo Calafiori and midfielder Mikel Merino arrived from Bologna and Real Sociedad respectively.

Towards the end of last summer's transfer window, Arsenal turned to the loan market to make more acquisitions with goalkeeper Neto arriving from Bournemouth and Raheem Sterling joining from London rivals Chelsea.
Arsenal picked up three points earlier this weekend when they returned to action after the international break with a 3-0 victory against Nottingham Forest yesterday at the Emirates Stadium.
Bukayo Saka put the Gunners ahead before Thomas Partey doubled the lead after the break, with youngster Ethan Nwaneri netting a late third to ensure Arteta's 250th match in charge of the Gunners ended with victory.

The result means Arsenal sit fourth in the Premier League table. Though they did strengthen over the summer and there is still a long way to go this season, further reinforcements could well be on the way in due course to further bolster Arteta's options in the squad.
According to Fichajes, the Gunners have set their sights on the signing of AC Milan midfielder Tijjani Reijnders, with Arteta said to be 'impressed' by his qualities in the engine room.
Arsenal are among several teams who have an eye on Reijnders and the report claims there could be 'possible astronomical offers' from the Gunners and other clubs by next summer.

Reijnders, 26, has been at the San Siro club since the summer of 2023 and is under contract until June 2028.
Reijnders has eight goals in 65 games for Milan and also has found the back of the net on three occasions in 20 caps for the Netherlands, having made his senior debut for his country in June 2023.
The midfielder made his professional debut in 2017 for PEC Zwolle, before moving to AZ Alkmaar with who he scored 13 goals in 128 games for, which also included a loan spell in 2020 for RKC Waalwijk.
So far this season for the Rossoneri, Reijnders has scored four goals in 14 games across all competitions.
