Arsenal 'table official offer' for Euro 2024 breakout star as Mikel Arteta looks to secure first summer signing

Arsenal 'table official offer' for Euro 2024 breakout star as Mikel Arteta looks to secure first summer signing

Arsenal are making a move for one of the stand-out stars at Euro 2024 but the Gunners face competition for his signature.

Arsenal have reportedly tabled an offer for one of the players that has caught the eye in the early stages of Euro 2024.

Mikel Arteta recruited well last summer with the arrivals of Declan Rice, Kai Havertz and David Raya all playing major roles throughout the 2023/24 season in the Gunners' title challenge.

Sadly for them, the Gunners once again fell short to Pep Guardiola's dominant Manchester City side - who secured the coveted Premier League trophy for a fourth season in a row.

Arsenal will now look for further reinforcements in the summer transfer window, with one reportedly already being identified while on international duty in Germany.

According to Ajan Spor, Arsenal have tabled a £16.9 million offer for Turkish international Ferdi Kadioglu.

The 24-year-old impressed in the Super Lig with Fenerbahce last season, where he scored one goal and added four assists, and is now catching the attention of top clubs once again at Euro 2024.

The versatile defender, who is capable of operating at left-back, right-back or in midfield, played the full 90 minutes of the 3-1 win against Georgia on Tuesday.

However, the Premier League giants will face competition from Borussia Dortmund who are also keen on the player. The Bundesliga side could even up their bid to £21 million in order to outbid Arsenal, although the report went on to state that Fenerbahce are looking for a figure in the region of £29 million to part ways with Kadioglu this summer.

West Ham United, Aston Villa, Tottenham Hotspur, Liverpool, Manchester City and Wolverhampton Wanderers have also previously been linked with a move for the Fenerbahce star - and his stock is only set to rise if he continues to shine on the international stage.

The Turkish side have recently appointed legendary coach Jose Mourinho as their new manager ahead of the 2024/25, who will likely want to keep hold of one of the prized assets at the Sukru Saracoglu Stadium.
