Arsenal are looking to hijack Tottenham Hotspur’s move for Aston Villa star Douglas Luiz.
The Gunners have already spent over £200million this summer, as the club look to go one better than last term’s second-place Premier League finish.
Kai Havertz sealed a £65million summer switch from Chelsea to kick off Arsenal’s summer business, with Jurrien Timber subsequently arriving from Ajax in a deal worth up to £38.5million.

Marquee signing Declan Rice was next through the door, sealing a club-record £105million move from West Ham. Indeed, the total fee for the England international is just shy of the British transfer record, with Chelsea paying £106.8million for Enzo Fernandez in January.
Despite the club’s substantial spending, Mikel Arteta has hinted that Arsenal could still look to sign more players this summer.
"Let's see. There is a lot of time still in the market and expectations with some of our players, so we will have to see how things develop in the next couple of weeks," Arteta told Sky Sports News.
"We will be alert. There is still time to do things. There is still time for exits obviously, so I am sure things will move."

Arsenal to hijack Spurs move
According to the Sun, Arsenal are set to compete with bitter north London rivals Tottenham for the signing of Luiz.
The publication claims Spurs will target the Aston Villa star, who Transfermarkt value at €40million (£34million), should they sell Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg.
However, Arsenal are reportedly eyeing a fresh move for the Brazilian, who they also tried to sign last summer. Indeed, a year ago Aston Villa rejected three Arsenal bids worth up to £25million for the midfielder, only for the 25-year-old to sign a new contract at Villa Park.

Meanwhile, Hojbjerg is not thought to be a natural fit for new Spurs boss Ange Postecoglou’s attacking style and looks set to leave the club this summer.
The 27-year-old is reportedly in talks with La Liga giants Atletico Madrid, while his old club Bayern Munich have shown an interest.
