Mikel Arteta is eyeing one of his former Manchester City players ahead of a potential transfer, according to Fabrizio Romano.
The Gunners spent big during the summer transfer as they splashed out a club-record £105 million to acquire Declan Rice from West Ham United.
They also snapped up Kai Havertz from Chelsea for £65 million, with the German brutally featuring in the worst Premier League signings of the season XI.

The transfer expert said: "Arsenal have been monitoring Pedro Neto for some time and I can also say that Arsenal always keep monitoring the same players they like - Aston Villa midfielder Douglas Luiz remains one of them.
"He’s always been appreciated."
Luiz was on Man City's books from 2017 to 2019, but never featured for the club as he spent two seasons on loan at Girona.

Following his loan spells away from Man City, Villa signed Luiz in 2019, with the player going onto become an important member for his side.
He's played 162 games for the Midlands outfit, scoring 16 goals.
Last season, he played 37 league games and scored six goals.
Luiz has clearly impressed Arteta, who wants the Brazilian at the Emirates.
