Former Crystal Palace owner Simon Jordan has lashed out at the Liverpool fans who booed the national anthem and the appearance of Prince William during the pre-match ceremony ahead of the FA Cup final.
It is tradition for the national anthem to be played ahead of the domestic cup finals, but some Liverpool fans showed their discontent when God Save The Queen was played at Wembley.
This has sparked a commotion across the football world, with fans from rival clubs and former players questioning the Liverpool fans’ decision to jeer both the national anthem and the introduction of Prince William.

talkSPORT pundit Jordan didn’t hold back on his views about what happened last Saturday.
He said on White and Jordan: “You’ve got to be a special brand of moron to boo the national anthem.
“I can’t relate to it. If I could relate to it I’d feel there’s a bigger tragedy because if I could relate to that kind of behaviour then I’ve got a problem as much as they have. I can’t relate to it.

“I can’t see whatever your grievance is about whatever country you live in, the argument that somehow because there’s difficulty in this climate, we’re all having a difficult time, the cost of living crisis, you boo the national anthem because you don’t like the government.”
Jordan added: “ I care about the way we operate in this country and it is completely unacceptable.”
A few Liverpool fans called into the radio show and backed their own supporters’’ action, stating the aftermath of the jeering has been way over the top.
Reds fan Steven said: “It’s not as nasty as you are making out. You are making it sound like we are all rebels or something.

“We are anti-Royalist. Who said I’ve got to stand up for the national anthem, who says I’ve got to sing ‘God Save The Queen’. You’ve learnt that from a kid.
“We are never going to get a discussion. No MP is ever going to stand up against the royals.
“It’s ingrained in everyone; we are a backwards country.
He added: “The way Simon is acting; you’d think we’d murdered someone.”

The Liverpool fans may have been booing at the start of the final but they had plenty to cheer about by the end of the game as Jurgen Klopp’s men edged past Chelsea 6-5 via a penalty shoot-out as the Reds claimed their first triumph in the FA cup since 2006.
