Former Crystal Palace chairman Simon Jordan has ripped into Mauricio Pochettino, labelling him as a ‘bridesmaid’.
The Paris Saint Germain manager is reportedly set to be sacked by the French champions soon. And now, Jordan has put his managerial credentials into question.
He said on talkSPORT: “He’s done what everyone else has done at PSG which is win their league. People say it’s difficult to manage Neymar, Mbappe and Messi, give me a break.”

“I’ve always felt that he is a bridesmaid, I’ve always felt that people give him a standing that I don’t think he merited. He was considered to be the shoe in for Manchester United, based upon what?”
His co presenter then defended Pochettino, stating: “He was good at Spurs, come on he was good at Spurs. That team he built at Spurs was fantastic.”
“And they won what?” Jordan replied.
The presenter argued: “They were close against Liverpool in the Champions League final.”

Jordan then said: “The bottom line is, why did Liverpool beat Chelsea in two finals in penalty shoot outs? Because there is a margin between an X-Factor manager and someone that is not.”
Jordan was then asked if Pochettino will get a top six job if he comes back to the Premier League.
“No.” said Jordan. “Who, where does he land? Does he land in Chelsea, does he land in Liverpool, does he land in Manchester City, Manchester United?”

He added: “I don’t think he has the gravitas(to be a top manager), gravitas is based on winning things.”
Quite a damning assessment of the capabilities of Pochettino by the former Palace chairman.
It is fair to say his time at PSG hasn’t been a huge success, he was beaten to the Ligue 1 title by Lille during his first season in charge at the Parc des Princes. And his record in the Champions League leaves much to be desired, despite adding the likes of Lionel Messi, Gini Wijnaldum and Gianluigi Donnarumma to the club’s already world class squad, he couldn’t take the club to Champions League glory.
They were knocked out by eventual winners Real Madrid in the last 16 round of the 21/22 campaign.

And it seems like his time has ran out in Paris, multiple news outlet has reported that Pochettino will be removed as the manager of PSG in the next few weeks.
With Kylian Mbappe staying at the club, PSG will be looking to finally get their hands on the elusive Champions League trophy.
