The ex-West Ham and Newcastle shot stopper, who retired from professional football back in 2007, is now plying his trade as a pundit for American broadcasting giants ESPN.
But while covering the pre-season clash between AC Milan and Real Madrid at the Rose Bowl in Southern California, Hislop had an on-air health scare.

As his co-host Dan Thomas was talking, Hislop suddenly began swaying back-and-forth.
Firstly rocking backwards, Hislop then fell face-first towards Thomas' feet and collapsed on the pitch in truly scary scenes.
Thomas sprung into action and waved over the medics who treated the 54-year-old before the broadcast cut to a commercial.
When clips of the incident started appearing across social media, fans wished him a speedy recovery and sent their love.

Thankfully, Thomas appeared live during half-time to provide an update on Hislop's condition.
"As it stands, it's good news," he said.
"He's conscious, he's talking. I think he's a little embarrassed about it all, he has apologised profusely – not a man who likes people to make a fuss of him.
"We spoke to his family as well. As you can imagine, seeing that happen live, there can’t be many more things that can scare you amongst a family, but we spoke to his wife and things are looking OK."
