Scott McTominay seems to be having the time of his life in Italy and he's looking after his financial interests into the bargain.
Manchester United graduate McTominay left Old Trafford for Napoli last summer and his first season in Serie A has been a revelation in the eyes of anyone who didn't see him as a top-level midfielder.
Napoli are sitting in second place in Italy's top tier, three points behind leaders and defending champions Inter Milan.

After finishing tenth last season, the Partenopei brought Antonio Conte in as manager and embarked on a personnel overhaul that's had the desired effect in 2024-25.
Their big summer moves included McTominay and his former Man Utd team-mate Romelu Lukaku as well as Brazilian winger David Neres from Benfica.
Billy Gilmour and Leonardo Spinazzola came in too, while AC Milan striker Noah Okafor joined on loan.
Such improvements on a mid-table finish don't come cheap.

McTominay, heralded as "the warrior soul of Napoli" by Gazzetta dello Sport and already the scorer of eight Serie A goals as his team chase the Scudetto, has become a key player for Conte.
The Scotland international also represents a significant investment and is understood to be one of the top ten highest-paid British players abroad.
Napoli's swashbuckling Lancastrian midfielder is reportedly being paid €106,000 by his new club, equivalent to an annual salary of around €5.5million and enough to make him the joint-fifth highest-paid Brit abroad according to estimates from Capology.
Deli Alli, also playing in Italy for Cesc Fabregas and Como, is the player who matches McTominay's estimated weekly wage.

McTominay is the only non-English Brit in the top ten, by international football eligibility at least, and five of the ten are now with Italian clubs.

Tammy Abraham of AC Milan (on loan from Roma) is the highest-paid Brit in Serie A and the fourth-highest British player abroad overall with an estimated weekly wage of €110,000.
Clubmates Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Kyle Walker (on loan from Manchester City) complete the Italian quintet. Loftus-Cheek earns an estimated €98,000 per week, while Milan are understood to be covering €89,000 weekly as a percentage of Walker's salary.

Elsewhere, Marseille are paying Mason Greenwood €104,000 and Bayern Munich are paying Eric Dier €96,000.
Harry Kane and Jude Bellingham are the second and third-highest British players overseas.
Bellingham is estimated to be earning €400,000 per week at Real Madrid, while the England captain's weekly Bayern wage of €480,000 equates to an annual salary of almost €25 million.
Football's highest-paid overseas Englishman is, inevitably, plugging away in the Saudi Pro League.

Former Premier League striker Ivan Toney is now playing for Al-Ahli in Jeddah and earning a cool estimated weekly wage of €490,000 for the privilege.
Nice work if you can get it.
