The Italian media have already had their say about Kyle Walker's move to AC Milan, as reports claim the transfer from Manchester City has been agreed.

Following City's massive 8-0 win over Salford City earlier this month, manager Pep Guardiola revealed that club captain Walker had asked to leave so that he could explore 'options to play abroad'.

Later reports claimed that Serie A giants AC Milan were leading the race to secure the Englishman's signature, despite interest from several other clubs throughout Europe.

And, with Walker's transfer to the Italian club all but confirmed, the local media have spoken out to give their opinion on the defender.

According to several outlets, Walker has already agreed terms with AC Milan and, subject to him completing a medical at the club, his transfer is expected to be announced within the coming days.

The Englishman will join the club in what has so far been difficult season, leading to Milan sitting 8th in the Serie A table, 19 points behind league leaders Napoli.

And Italian paper La Gazzetta dello Sport, via Milan Reports, are convinced that Walker could be the the exact man that the Italian side needs to get themselves back on top, with the defender seen as an experienced winner who can lead show the rest of the squad a path to success.

Milan also reportedly view Walker as a player who is likely to be hungry to prove that he is still at the top of his game, likely so that he can hit back at fans who have criticised the 34-year-old since his disappointing campaign at Euro 2024.

Addressing rumours of the deal, Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Senior Advisor to AC Milan's Ownership and Senior Management, praised Walker and admitted that they were looking into a deal.

"Everyone knows that Walker is a great player, for Man City, Tottenham, and England," he said, as reported by Calciomercato.

"There is a lot of interest. He doesn't go against our strategy and vision, he is a leader and dominates the dressing room, so let's see what we can do."

But Guardiola has remained coy on the transfer rumours, adding: "Did Ibra say he’s on the market and there’s interest? If Ibra said it, then Ibra said it… Kyle can play anywhere, absolutely anywhere.”
