Italian media left impressed by the one thing Kyle Walker did during second AC Milan appearance

The defender has moved to the Serie A side on loan from Man City.

Kyle Walker has made a positive impression in the early stages of his time at AC Milan and Italian media are particularly pleased with one aspect of his character in his latest appearance for the club.

The 34-year-old moved on loan to Milan in the January transfer window for the rest of the season away from Manchester City.

Walker had been at City since 2017 when he moved from Tottenham Hotspur in a £50m deal and went on to score six goals in 319 appearances for the Etihad club.

In that time under Pep Guardiola, Walker became a huge part of City's modern-day success with multiple trophies won.

This has included six Premier League titles, the Champions League, two FA Cups, four League Cups, the UEFA Super Cup and the FIFA Club World Cup.

Walker's contract at City runs until mid-2026, but there is the distinct possibility that the right-back's loan deal could be converted into a permanent deal this summer due to an option which has been inserted into the deal, after he had asked Guardiola to depart in January.

Walker also has 93 England caps to his name and has been a key player for nearly a decade, having been part of the squads which finished as runners-up at Euro 2020 and Euro 2024.

Walker has now played three games for Milan, including two in Serie A, with his debut coming in the 1-1 draw against cross-city rivals Internazionale.

And in his second Serie A appearance, Walker was part of the Milan side which beat Empoli 2-0 on the road and Italian publication La Gazzetta dello Sport picked out one moment from the defender which was particularly impressive.

At one point, Walker gave instructions to American international Yunus Musah for around 15 seconds, with the Man City loanee explaining the movements to make on the pitch and gesturing with his body and pointing in different directions, and speaking on several occasions to the 24-year-old to ensure the messages were understood.

The Italian publication has hailed Walker as a 'leader' and included comments the defender gave to broadcaster DAZN which illustrates how strongly he feels about this.

Walker said: "My leadership is important. I was the captain of Manchester City.

"I hope that the younger ones see me as a leader, I try to be an example for everyone."

The article also counts Walker as amongst the most vocal characters in the Milan squad including Mike Maignan, Youssouf Fofana and Fikayo Tomori.
