Ruben Dias delivered a cold press conference and then dropped a defensive masterclass for Manchester City against Bayern Munich just a day later.
City ran out 3-0 winners in the Champions League quarter final first leg courtesy of goals from Rodri, Bernardo Silva and Erling Haaland to put one foot into the semi-final first leg.
Dias was utterly imperious at the heart of City's backline, producing a slew of huge blocks and tackles to thwart the Bundesliga champions and keep a clean sheet.
He was also more than adept with the ball at his feet, something which couldn't be said for opposite number Dayot Upamecano, who struggled massively at the Etihad Stadium.

Dias' elite mentality is one of his strongest attributes and separates him from the rest. And that was in abundance in his pre Bayern press conference.

Dias was asked about the threat of Bayern and in particular the pace brought to the table by Leroy Sane, Sadio Mane, Serge Gnabry and Alphonso Davies.

But the Portuguese defender completely dismissed the question by reminding the journalist of the quality of his teammates, saying, "Well... we've got some names as well. We've got Kyle Walker, Manu [Akanji], we've got me, we've got Nathan [Ake], we've got John Stones, we've got Ayme [Laporte], we've got Sergi [Gomez] so we've also got our names."
He was then quizzed on whether he'd back his defence against Bayern's lightning quick attack and simply responded, "We'll see. We'll see on the pitch tomorrow."
Dias' comments proved to be bang on the money as City did a number on Thomas Tuchel's side to achieve a record home Champions League unbeaten run for an English side.

There were many top performers for Pep Guardiola's side but City fans couldn't help but hail Dias, who talked the talk and walked the walk.
One wrote: "Ruben Dias is the best cb itw. Unbelievable performance and said in the press conference 'We will see on the pitch' he is HIM.
A second concurred: "'We’ll see… well you’ll see on the pitch' What was Ruben Dias cooking in the press conference yesterday?"

Another added: "Ruben Dias tell you for press conference, 'We'll show you on the pitch' and you still turn up?"
A fourth weighed in: "Reminder that Ruben Dias literally delivered the coldest press conference ever AND THEN DID THE TALKING ON THE PITCH. What a player."
A final user echoed same thoughts, commenting: Ruben Dias has played phenomenally. He doesn't want that journo that asked him 'why?' in the press conference to come back with pepper for him."
City host struggling Leicester at the Etihad on Saturday before travelling to Munich for the second leg at the Allianz Arena on Wednesday.
