It was officially announced on Wednesday night that Romelu Lukaku has sealed a return to Inter Milan.
Less than a year after returning to Chelsea from Inter in a massive £97.5 million deal, the Belgian is again back in Italy, and will spend the season on loan with the Serie A giants.
Ever since his ill timed interview with Sky Italia in December, the relationship between Lukaku and the Chelsea fanbase has been deteriorating. In the interview last year, Lukaku expressed his discontent over manager Thomas Tuchel's style of play, he later apologised and was left out of the team's squad for two matches.

And now it seems to have reached the point of no return after the Belgian’s first interview since his return to Inter.
The Belgian surprised many when he appeared to say that he has been in contact with Inter’s manager, Simone Inzaghi during the course of the 21/22 season.
Lukaku told Inter’s official channels: “The affection of the fans and my teammates, but also the opportunity to work with the coach.”
“I remained in contact with him throughout all of last season.”

“I think the coach is doing well with the squad, so I want to contribute to doing what is best for this club.”
He added: “I didn’t even leave my home when I went to England, which shows how happy I am to be back here. Now I just want to see the guys on the pitch.”
Shocked fans took to social media to express their anger towards the striker.

One fan said: “Watching Lukaku's interview and where he said, he has been in communication with Inzaghi all season really made my skin crawl. At this point, even if Inter don't want to renew his deal next season, Chelsea should terminate the contract.”
Another tweeted: “So Lukaku joins inter and then said he's been in contact with Inzaghi all season .. hands down probably the worst transfer we’ve ever made, even worse than Zappacosta”
And a third said: “I just watched the Lukaku interview with Inter Milan and someone needs to

remind him he's only there on loan and is still technically a Chelsea player.”
Regardless of the poor relationship between the player and the fanbase, Lukaku did end the 21/22 season as the Blues’ top scorer, with 15 goals.
The Belgian will now look to put the past behind him as he looks to recapture his fine form that he showed during his first spell with Inter.
