A rather baffling job advert has popped up online, with Hawk-Eye looking for a VAR Replay Operator based in Stockley Park to work alongside referees in assisting the use of VAR in the Premier League.
VAR has been used in the Premier League since the 2019/20 season, but despite over five seasons of operation the system still comes under significant criticism from fans.
Premier League officials continue to get slammed for still coming to the wrong decision despite the aid of technology.

Notable mishaps from VAR include last season's goal from Luis Diaz which was chalked off despite the Colombian being clearly onside, as well as Rodri's handball which was not given at Goodison Park in 2022.
With these blunders far more common than the PGMOL would like, it's no surprise they are on the hunt for new talent with the online job advert requiring an 'immediate start'.
The job description reads: "As a Football Systems Operator, you will be working at the Premier League Replay Centre at Stockley Park, playing a key part in the delivery of our services to the Premier League.

"As you gain experience in the role, you may be expected to be involved in more tournaments throughout Europe."
One of the more shocking details of the job offer is the pay, with the successful candidate set to earn a mere £25,800 per year which is around £10,000 less than the average UK salary.
However, the salary was not the most alarming thing within the ad, as the description reveals 'a keen interest in football and an understanding of the laws of the game', is only a 'preferred'.

While the role doesn't require the candidate to make any actual decisions, the fact being aware of the laws of the game is only optional does ring some alarm bells.
