ESPN analyst Shaka Hislop has given a positive update on his condition after he collapsed during the broadcast of the friendly fixture between AC Milan and Real Madrid.
The Premier League icon had fans worried after he inconspicuously collapsed while in conversation with ESPN colleague Dan Thomas at the Rose Bowl.
Thomas tweeted earlier that the former West Ham United player would be appearing on the broadcast to give an update following the scare.

His message was later tweeted by the ESPN FC Twitter account, where Hislop opened his comments in a fairly tongue-in-cheek manner.
He said: “Well, that was awkward.”
Hislop continued: “What a 24 hours this has been. Listen, every so often life gives you a moment to pause, and this was mine.

“There is so much I have to be thankful for. My wife, kids, family, loved ones, friends, people that I’ve shared a space with over the years but have lost touch with for whatever reason - who have reached out either directly or indirectly. Thank you.”
“My response now has to be to seek out the best medical opinion that I can get and listen to what my doctors have to say.
“In closing, I’d like to say thanks to Dan [Thomas] and the ESPN family, the camera operators, the medical staff at the Rose Bowl who responded in the way that they did and afforded me the care that I got. Thank you.
“I’m looking forward to getting back and doing what I enjoy doing most,” Hislop said. “See you in a bit.”

The ex-West Ham and Newcastle shot-stopper, who retired from professional football back in 2007, is now plying his trade as a pundit for American broadcasting giants ESPN.
But while covering the pre-season clash between AC Milan and Real Madrid at the Rose Bowl in Southern California, Hislop had an on-air health scare.
Firstly rocking backwards, Hislop then fell face-first towards Thomas' feet and collapsed on the pitch in terrifying scenes.

Thomas sprung into action and waved over the medics who treated the 54-year-old before the broadcast cut to a commercial.
Hislop’s broadcast partner later let viewers know that he was ‘conscious’ and ‘talking’ and that his family has been spoken to.
Great to hear he is on the mend, we wish him a speedy recovery.
Hislop played for the likes of Newcastle United, Reading, West Ham, and Portsmouth in the Premier League over his 15-year career.
