Alan Shearer has tipped one surprise name as an 'outside bet' to win the Premier League Golden Boot this season.

However, that all changed when Erling Haaland joined Manchester City in 2022.

The likes of Mohamed Salah, Harry Kane, Son Heung-min and Luis Suarez have all won the Golden Boot in recent years, but a younger crop of attacker came through last season to challenge for the goal-scoring crown.

Phil Foden stepped up his attacking output by scoring 19 goals to help City win a fourth successive league title, while Aston Villa's Ollie Watkins and Bournemouth's Dominic Solanke hit the same total while enjoying superb campaigns.
Newcastle striker Alexander Isak - refreshed after a mixed debut season at St. James' Park - scored 21 goal to secure third place in the scoring charts, and Magpies legend Alan Shearer believes the Swede could win the Golden Boot this term.
"Erling Haaland will want another Golden Boot, Solanke will want to be up there again and continue what he did with Bournemouth at Tottenham," Shearer told SPORTbible, on behalf of Guinness.

"Alexander Isak at Newcastle, he’s a great outside bet for the Golden Boot.
"Marcus Rashford was incredible the season before last season, so he’s shown that he can do it too. If he gets one or two in the opening game then don’t be surprised if he goes on to have a big season."
Shearer certainly knows a thing or two about scoring goals; the former England man won the Golden Boot a record three times, and with 260 goals he is the Premier League's all-time leading goal-scorer.
Guinness teams up with Premier League legend, Alan Shearer, to reveal an iconic line-up of 20 Guinness tankers. Wearing the colours of each Premier League club, the tankers depart Dublin to deliver perfect pints of Guinness to fans for the first match.
