Luis Diaz has put Liverpool 1-0 ahead against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge after a sublime assist from Mohamed Salah.
After a relatively quiet opening 15 minutes, the game burst into life when Alexis Mac Allister picked up the ball deep in midfield.
Liverpool's new signing then produced a superb crossfield pass to find the feet of Salah, who began driving at Levi Colwill on the left side of Chelsea's defence.

Salah then placed a superb pass between three Blues defenders with the ultimate precision, finding Diaz at the back post.
It needed the finish, though, and the Colombian provided it by sliding in to poke the ball beyond Chelsea goalkeeper Robert Sanchez, despite the despairing attempt by defender Axel Disasi to scoop the ball away from his path.
After an impressive pre-season, the goal represented the perfect start to the season for Diaz, who took the iconic number seven shirt ahead of the new campaign.

Liverpool hit the front at Stamford Bridge
Before the match, much was made of Liverpool's attacking midfield three, with Mac Allister operating in what is effectively a deeper holding midfield role.
But it didn't take too long for the Argentinian's incredible passing range to pay dividends at Stamford Bridge, as the 24-year-old played a key role in Liverpool's opening goal.
Jurgen Klopp's side thought they had made it 2-0 when Salah broke beyond the defensive line and slotted beyond Sanchez.

The goal was initially given but it was checked by VAR, who deemed the Egyptian to be narrowly offside when the ball was played through.
Diaz's goal, however, ended a drought of almost 500 minutes without a goal in matches between Chelsea and Liverpool in any competition.
Chelsea then made it 1-1 just minutes later, with Disasi appearing at the other end to slot the ball beyond Alisson from close range.
