Fans have figured out why Harry Kane has joined Bayern Munich despite being on the cusp of breaking Alan Shearer’s goalscoring record.
On Saturday Kane secured a move to German champions Bayern on a four-year deal worth up to £100million.
And the England record scorer is set to make his debut for the Bavarian giants just hours after sealing the move, with the the club competing in Saturday’s German Super Cup game against RB Leipzig.

Kane, who will wear the number nine shirt at Bayern, said: "I'm very happy to be a part of FC Bayern now. Bayern is one of the biggest clubs in the world, and I've always said that I want to compete and prove myself at the highest level during my career.
"This club is defined by its winning mentality - it feels very good to be here."
Kane’s future had been uncertain all summer, given the striker had only had one year left on his contract at Spurs. However, many thought the forward would opt to stay in the Premier League so he could break the league’s all-time scoring record.
Kane won the Premier League Golden Boot on three occasions - in 2015-16, 2016-17 and 2020-21 - while his 213 Premier League goals see him just 48 strikes shy of breaking Alan Shearer's record.

However, fans have a theory as to why Kane may have opted to move to the Bundesliga instead of staying and surely surpassing the record.
Indeed, with Erling Haaland having arrived in the Premier League last season, it is possible that even if Kane were to beat Shearer’s record, his Norwegian counterpart would out-score them both in a few years.
CBS Sports reporter Aaron West said: “Harry Kane saw that mutant hit the league last year and said ‘man forget it the record [only going to] last a couple years anyway’ lmaaaaoooooo.”
Another supporter added: “If Haaland keeps his form from last year, he will have the record in the next 7 years.”

Another wrote: “Who could really begrudge Harry Kane the chance to add some trophies to his CV?
“Erling Haaland is coming for that PL goalscoring record anyway, and they can never take medals and titles away from you.
“It makes sense on every level & he’ll be perfect for Bayern.”
Haaland scored a brace in Manchester City’s opening game of the season against Burnley on Friday, having claimed 36 goals in 35 Premier League appearances in his debut campaign last season.
