Mikel Arteta's side ran them close, with the Arsenal manager also on the shortlist. Not to mention Newcastle United's Eddie Howe and Fulham's Marco Silva.
Brighton's Roberto De Zerbi and Aston Villa's Unai Emery also make the list, having joined their respective clubs midway through the campaign.
However, the exclusion of Gary O'Neil, who has worked wonders at Bournemouth by keeping them in the top flight, and Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag has angered people on social media.

A fourth added: "Both Ten Hag & Gary O’Neil should be included. I would argue instead of Arteta & Howe."
A fifth said: "Gary O’Neil left out is a bit harsh."
Another commented: "What a shame !!! Where is Ten hag?"
Ten Hag's Man United look well-placed to secure a top-four finish this season, with his side beating the likes of Man City, Arsenal and Liverpool in the league.
