Piers Morgan has been ruthlessly blasted by fans on social media for his ‘embarrassing’ message after Cristiano Ronaldo’s stunning four-goal haul.
Ronaldo arrived in Saudi Arabia after his controversial departure from Manchester United and inked a lucrative £177m-per-year deal with Al Nassr.
The five-time Ballon d’Or winner had a slow start to life with the Saudi Pro League side and failed to find the back of the net in his first two appearances for Al Nassr.

However, Ronaldo opened his Al Nassr goalscoring account in his third match from the spot-kick in Al Fateh’s 2-2 draw at the Prince Abdullah bin Jalawi Stadium.
The 38-year-old Portuguese forward turned his performance up a notch on Thursday after scoring an impressive four times against Al Wehda.
Ronaldo scored a first-half brace before completing his hat-trick with a penalty after the break, with the Al Nassr superstar adding his fourth in the 61st minute.

Morgan, who dropped a bombshell interview with Ronaldo last year, took to Twitter to congratulate the “astounding” United and Real Madrid legend.
“BREAKING: Cristiano Ronaldo scores all 4 goals in Al-Nassr’s 4-0 win at Al-Wehda, passing 500 League goals in his career,” he wrote.
“He’s now scored 61 hat-tricks, 30 before he was 30, 31 since he turned 30. He’s now 38. Astounding. Congrats.”
In another tweet on Ronaldo’s four-goal haul at the King Abdulaziz Stadium, Morgan added: “Not bad for a 38yr-old… [sic]”

However, Morgan was mocked by fans on Twitter after they aimed brutal digs at the quality of football played in the Saudi Pro League.
“In a pub league… I could play in that league and I’ve got [one] leg shorter than the other,” one fan said.
Another Twitter user wrote: “Yeah, but have you seen that league? You would even score a hat-trick in it.”
“Not bad, I knocked [five] in against them last week and I’m 50,” a fan cheekily tweeted.

While a fourth added: “Ah, but could he do it in the Championship/League One?”
And a fifth posted: “I think I could score [four] in that league.”
