Paris Saint-Germain sent shockwaves through world football when they paid a record fee to sign Neymar in 2017.
The €222million (£198million) deal remains the most expensive transfer of all-time – and doesn't look likely to be topped any time soon – as PSG laid down a statement of intent to trigger Neymar's release clause at Barcelona.
It hasn't exactly been plain sailing since, either, with numerous reports that the Brazilian could leave the French club; he's been linked with a return to Barca or even a sensational move to Real Madrid, though nothing concrete has ever transpired.

The 31-year-old has most recently been stricken by a serious ankle injury that may prevent him ever playing for PSG again, amid reports that this summer could finally be the one in which he moves on from the Parc des Princes.
Now, some bizarre details have emerged about the specifics of Neymar's contract with PSG.
Spanish media outlet El Mundo claims that, as part of the agreement, the Brazilian earns €541,680 every month for being 'courteous, punctual, friendly, and available to fans'. They also report that Neymar is contractually banned from publicly criticising the club's tactical setup and that he must avoid 'negative public comments about the club, those who work there and those who support him'.

The claims are quite incredible, although there is no doubt that Neymar earns an astonishing amount from the French capital club.
And though he's faced a huge amount of pressure and criticism during his near six-year stay at PSG, Neymar has indeed been fairly quiet when it's come to speaking out against his team or teammates.
He's won four Ligue 1 titles, two French Cups and two French League Cups with PSG, although the Champions League has evaded him (he won it in 2015 with Barcelona).
