Chelsea, Liverpool and Manchester City currently make up the Premier League's top three, what would the table look like if it was simply based on results from January to December, 2016?
The champions of England, Leicester City, may have lifted the Premier League trophy back in May but if it was based on the 38 games played in 2016, they would be outside the European places in 8th place.
Unsurprisingly, Chelsea top the 2016 league table after a superb start to this season, winning 14 from a possible 17 - while Crystal Palace's dreadful 2016 is epitomised in their positioning.

By sheer coincidence, Arsenal finish in fourth while Liverpool have scored 11 more goals than any Premier League side in 2016.
The results are intriguing. Crystal Palace have won just six games in this calendar year, a sign that Alan Pardew's side need to improve in the next year or relegation is inevitable.

It's no surprise that Aston Villa were relegated after a poor second half to the season. winning just two games from a possible 19.
