Gary Neville has revealed he would prefer Mauricio Pochettino to take the Manchester United job over Erik ten Hag.
Widespread reports emerged this week suggesting Ajax manager Erik ten Hag has been interviewed by United as they begin the process of finding the club's new permanent boss to take over interim Ralf Rangnick.
The 52-year-old, who has coached the Eredivisie champions since 2017, impressed in said interview, according to The Times, who claim the Premier League club believe he would 'fit well into their structure' if he takes over at Old Trafford.
Ten Hag has been one of the favourites to take over from interim Rangnick for a number of months alongside Paris Saint-Germain manager Mauricio Pochettino, who remains strongly linked with the job.
And with constant rumours swirling surrounding the United job, club legend Gary Neville decided to conduct a Twitter poll to get a grasp of who the fans want in charge come next season.
"Reports Ten Hag has been interviewed this week," he wrote on his official Twitter account.
"If formal interviews have started and with it being such a public process, I would expect a new manager announcement within a week or so. Who do United fans want?"
In the coming hours, a total of 82% of United supporters voted for overwhelming favourite Ten Hag, with only 18% opting for Pochettino, who would bring a wealth of Premier League experience with him after a five year spell at Tottenham Hotspur.
Neville went on to give his opinion on the matter. "Personally I would go for Pochettino," he said. "But Ten Hag is the massive favourite of United fans to take the club forward. That's if it is a clear choice between the two."
A Twitter user hit back at Neville's tweet, saying: "Have you watched PSG?", to which the former England full-back responded: "Yes! I also watched Tuchel's PSG go out against us. He's done ok."
