Lionel Messi's number ten shirt for MLS outfit Inter Miami has been named as one of the most influential fashion pieces of 2023.
The 36-year-old global superstar joined the club back in July 2023, after calling time on his three-year string with French side PSG.
Following his transfer to the US, Messi's popularity has seemingly increased ten fold, with fans from all over the world flying into Miami to catch a glimpse of the eight-time Ballon D'Or winner.
But it is his jersey that has seen wide-scale popularity following his move, with Lifestyle magazine Vogue naming his shirt as one of the most sought after piece of clothing to hit the shops across the last twelve months.

It is something of a rarity to see a piece of football clothing placed so high up on the list, but as fashion begins to evolve year-on-year, perhaps Messi's Barbie-like attire is beginning to change the scene.
Vogue stated via their countdown how the former Barcelona man's shirt continues to make waves across the world, writing: “Immediately following the Messi announcement, the generic Inter Miami jersey, in an unexpected shade of un–Barbie pink, sold out, giving rise to a rich bootleg industry. Now, nearly five months later, the official Messi jersey, sporting his number 10, remains wait-listed in most sizes on the adidas website.”
Messi's influence has continued to attract many high-profile guests to Inter Miami's fixtures this season, with LeBron James, Kim Kardashian and Selena Gomez just some of the names seen in the crowd over the last few months.

He also helped David Beckham's side to claim their first ever piece of silverware, winning the 2023 Leagues Cup after scoring a whopping ten goals along the way.
Currently enjoying their off season in the MLS, Messi also recently claimed his eight Ballon d'Or title, beating the likes of Erling Haaland and Jude Bellingham to the crown.
