Mason Greenwood's Manchester United teammates are said to be 'shocked and appalled' in wake of the striker's arrest.
The 20-year-old was detained on suspicion of rape and assault on Sunday after a woman alleged that she had been assaulted in a series of pictures, a video and an audio recording posted on Instagram.
The Englishman has since been released on bail pending further investigation on Wednesday after spending three nights in prison.
Man United have released two statements, both condemning violence as they suspend him from training and matches until further notice.
The Daily Mail are now reporting that Greenwood's teammates are 'shocked and appalled' at what emerged on social media.
A source told the outlet: "Everyone is very shaken up. This is very different to the normal things they have to deal with."
On Tuesday, Man United confirmed the player would not be involved in training or playing until further notice.
"Manchester United reiterates its strong condemnation of violence of any kind," the statement read.
"As previously communicated, Mason Greenwood will not train with, or play for, the club until further notice."
Greenwood's merchandise has been removed from the official club website, while Nike have suspended their relationship with the player in light of leaked audio and images that went viral online.
He has also been removed from FIFA 22's offline modes by EA Sports.
This season, Greenwood has played 24 games in all competitions - scoring six goals.
He scored in his side's 3-1 win over Brentford last month.
