Manchester United striker Wout Weghorst believes he can extend his stay at Old Trafford after joining the club on loan this January.
The Red Devils agreed a deal with his parent club Burnley to cut short his loan with Turkish club Besiktas, bringing him to Manchester to help bolster their attack.
The Dutchman notched his first goal for the club on Wednesday, scoring in United's 3-0 win over Nottingham Forest in the first leg of the EFL Cup semi-final.

Whilst Erik ten Hag has made no commitment to making his move permanent, the club are thought to want to sign a top-class striker in the summer, with Harry Kane's name being put forward.
Weghorst keen to extend stay at Man Utd
When asked if he thought there was a chance to show Ten Hag that he can stay longer at United, Weghorst replied: "Of course. The situation now is how it was – it was for a loan. It’s a massive club so I will try to do everything as good as I can, and if it will work out it will be a good option.

"I’ve seen the first couple of days, almost a week, how big the club is in everything – the facilities, the club, even the quality in the team, the way we’re playing. There’s a lot of quality in everything and that’s something you look to work in, in a winning atmosphere.
"I think the first week went well and it’s up to me to deliver and contribute and to help the team as good as I can. I’m quite confident I can play a role in it."
Ten Hag was desperate for a short-term striker to replace Cristiano Ronaldo, with Anthony Martial the club's only recognised number 9, and often prone to injury.
"The club was looking for a target man. With Martial there was only one real striker, more of a No.9. They just wanted to add one and then it's up to me and to take your chances," Weghorst continued.

"The moments are there and then it’s just to deliver, contribute and help the team, also in the way I'm playing, the way I am pressing.
"In the beginning, it’s the third game, and you recognise the way the players around you are playing. There’s still room for improvement, let’s make it even better."
Who else could Man Utd sign?
Kane has been linked with a move away from Tottenham for some time now, and according to Telegraph Sport, he is still keen on leaving North London.

They report that the England international is in no rush to extend his contract at Spurs beyond 2024, with a whole host of clubs keeping tabs on his situation.
Former Arsenal legend Ian Wright has hinted that the Red Devils should go after the 29-year-old and use Martial as a bargaining tool within the deal.
But with Ten Hag believed to prefer a faster forward, Victor Osimhen's name has been thrown into the mix. The Napoli striker is currently top scorer in Serie A with 13 goals in 15 appearances, helping his side to open up a nine-point gap at the top of the table. The Nigerian also has time on his side, being five years younger than Kane.
