Manchester United could receive an unexpected boost to their summer transfer budget.
Mason Mount is currently undergoing a medical with Manchester United, after Chelsea accepted a £55million offer for the England international.
However, United also have other targets, with a goalkeeper and striker being priorities. Given the club are reportedly working to a net spend of about £100million in an inflated market, they will need to sell to raise funds.

Fred is allegedly attracting interest from Fulham while Dean Henderson is wanted by Nottingham Forest, where he spent last season on loan.
However, United could also receive an unexpected transfer windfall from a player that left the club a year ago.
Tahith Chong to Luton?
Tahith Chong featured three times for United during his Erik ten Hag’s first pre-season at the club, but was allowed to leave permanently on last summer’s deadline day.

At the time Birmingham beat fellow Championship side West Brom to Chong’s £1.45million signature.
United reportedly felt that was good value for a youngster entering the final year of his contract. And a year on it looks excellent business given the club inserted a sell-on clause as part of the agreement.
According to the Manchester Evening News, United will receive 25 per cent of any transfer fee for the 23-year-old, which is particularly pertinent given reports Chong could move to Premier League new boys Luton Town this summer.

Rob Edwards’ side are looking to bolster their squad ahead of their top flight return, and it is understood they are currently holding talks over a possible move for Chong.
Chong netted four goals and claimed five assists as Birmingham finished 17th in the Championship last term.
United have allegedly coveted Andre Onana from Inter, with the Champions League finalists’ CEO Beppe Marotta admitting they are waiting for a bid from the Old Trafford club this week. Inter are said to want around £43m for Onana plus add-ons.
Meanwhile, Ten Hag’s absolute priority has been enhancing the forward line. However Tottenham have maintained that United’s No.1 target, Harry Kane, is not for sale, and especially not to a Premier League rival.
