Lille striker Jonathan David appeared to give Manchester United the green light to sign him by insisting he was open to making a move to a “massive club”.
The Canadian has been one of the stars of Ligue 1 since moving from Gent to Lille three years ago, while this season David has already racked up nine goals in just 12 games.
Naturally, such form has led the 22-year-old to be linked to Europe's biggest clubs.

Last summer one of the sides reported to be interested in the Canadian was Manchester United, as Erik Ten Hag looked to rebuild the Red Devils’ fortunes.
While such a move failed to materialise, the Man Utd hierarchy may look to dip back into the market in January, given Cristiano Ronaldo’s waning powers and Anthony Martial's injury issues.

One person who has revealed himself to be a fan of the Lille star is Fabrizio Romano. The transfer guru dubbed David as a “really underrated and potential great solution” to the Red Devils’s striker problem.
And now David has signalled that he would be open to a move away from the Stade Pierre-Mauroy if met with an approach by a “massive club”.
Speaking to Sky Sports News, David said: “I was always watching European football on TV. So, for me that was always the goal. For me it was, I only wanted to go to Europe.
"The next step is always growing, having more ambition, a bigger club I think. Every player wants to play for a massive club in their life. So I think if I had the chance to do it, I'll go for it for sure.”

The striker, who has three years left on his Lille contract, added: "I think they're two different leagues [the Premier League and La Liga].
“But I think I can adapt to both for sure. And I think with the experience that I've had here in France, it will help me a lot if I need to adapt to some place else a lot faster. So yeah I think both leagues suit me."
