Manchester United are reportedly plotting a €130million (£115million) move for Real Madrid’s Eduardo Camavinga, which could ruin Liverpool’s summer transfer plans.
United’s sobering 7-0 defeat to Jurgen Klopp’s side at the weekend was their worst competitive loss since Boxing Day 1931.
Indeed, while the Liverpool demolition put an end to United’s 11-game unbeaten run, it also reiterated where Erik ten Hag needed to improve his squad in the summer.

As well as a new striker, United will likely prioritise the acquisition of a midfielder at the end of the season, who is capable of slotting in alongside Brazilian talisman Casemiro.
And one player allegedly on the Old Trafford club’s radar is Camavinga.
Camavinga to United?
According to Spanish publication Fichajes, United are “pining” to sign Camavinga and are willing to pay up to £115million to secure his services.

The France international was signed by Los Blancos from Rennes in the summer of 2021 for just £27million and aged 20, has been celebrated as the future of Real’s midfield.
In turn, despite the massive fee United are said to be willing to pay for the midfielder, Real would allegedly “not even contemplate” his departure.
Camavinga has been one of Carlo Ancelotti’s best performers during a turbulent season.

The Frenchman has had a more central role for Los Blancos, operating in several positions including central midfield and left-back.
Such versatility has seen the youngster rack up over 1500 minutes, already surpassing his entire tally from last season.
Real’s alleged resistance to selling the France star will be good news for Liverpool.
If Camavinga was sold it would free up funds and a place in the squad for Real to sign Liverpool’s number one summer target Jude Bellingham.

A range of reports have claimed that Real were unlikely to be able to afford Bellingham, with Liverpool favourites to sign the midfielder.
Indeed, the teenager would allegedly cost around £130million, with his current Borussia Dortmund deal running until 2025.
