Rio Ferdinand has claimed that major news on the Manchester United takeover could be announced imminently.
The takeover process still shows no signs of reaching a conclusion publicly, however, with Sheikh Jassim - through the Nine Two Foundation - and Sir Jim Ratcliffe reportedly both still in the race.
The Nine Two Foundation wants a full takeover of United, while Ratcliffe is aiming to acquire a majority stake in the club from the Glazer family.

The club's current owners have not spoken publicly about the takeover process, barring their original statement in November which confirmed the board was seeking 'strategic alternatives'.
According to CBS Sports reporter Ben Jacobs, Sheikh Jassim and Ratcliffe are the only two realistic options to take over United, if the Glazers do decide to sell the club.
Now, Ferdinand has given his latest update on the process.

Ferdinand on Man Utd takeover
When appearing on the latest edition of Vibe with FIVE, Ferdinand was asked by co-host Joel Beya about whether he could give an update on the takeover process - and whether any news could be announced on Tuesday.
He responded: "I was talking to David Ornstein, man, he's got good knowledge as well.
"But we've got good sources, yeah. Stay tuned on this."
United supporters will no doubt be staying tuned with bated breath as they eagerly wait for news on whether a takeover of the club will take place.

Away from the sale process, Erik ten Hag's side are close to sealing a move for Chelsea midfielder Mason Mount.
The club have agreed a £55 million fee with the Blues to sign the England international, while they have also agreed personal terms with Fiorentina and Morocco midfielder Sofyan Amrabat, as per Italian outlet La Nazione (via Sport Witness).
Both deals fall within United's budget of £100 million, as per The Athletic, with the strict budget in comparison to other top clubs due to Financial Fair Play (FFP) restrictions.
