A journalist has dropped a major update on the Glazer’s future at Manchester United.
In November United owners, the Glazers, put the finance and football world on red alert by announcing they were exploring “strategic alternatives” for the club, which could result in an outright sale.
And in March, British petrochemicals billionaire Sir Jim Ratcliffe and Qatari banker Sheikh Jassim placed revised bids to purchase United.

While the Guardian have claimed Sheikh Jassim is confident that he will be successful in his bid to buy the club, there is also a possibility the Glazers could choose to retain their stake in the club entirely.
It has been speculated that Joel and Avram Glazer could use funds from a US investment firm to buy out their other four siblings, with several financial groups thought to be interested in providing capital for a deal.
United legend Gary Neville previously described the Glazers remaining at the club as the “nightmare scenario”. Indeed, according to ESPN’s Mark Ogden, Neville’s “nightmare” could become a reality.
Joel and Avram Glazer to stay at Man Utd?
According to Ogden, Joel and Avram Glazer are confident of staying at the club and doubling its value over the next decade.

The journalist said: “Do the Glazers really want to sell Manchester United?
“That’s been the question since they put the club on a strategic investment pursuit back in November and it was obviously thought at the time that they were desperate to sell because of the animosity towards them.
“Basically since 2005 they’ve been despised by Man United fans for putting the club in lots of debt, making the team uncompetitive on the pitch and Old Trafford as we know, is a stadium that’s almost going in decline.

“So the Glazers at the time in November looked like they were looking to sell. They’ve had interest obviously from Sheikh Jassim of Qatar, Jim Ratcliffe, the Ineos owner, who’s is Britain’s richest man.

“But I’ve been told right now that the Glazers, certainly Joel and Avram, the co-chairmen, are looking to stay at the club, seek that investment that will enable them to do so [and] sell a minority stake.
“And there are at least four investment groups that are looking to offer them a minority investment.
“The Glazers, I’ve been told, believe that if they can hold onto the club for another seven, eight years, and they can develop it - they develop the stadium and the team to make it maybe worth twice as much as what it is now. Potentially £10billion.”
